# Review Automation Runs and Test Rules

## What This Does

This guide explains how to verify whether automation executed as expected.

## Steps

1. Open an automation rule.
2. Review the configured trigger, conditions, and action.
3. Use `Execute Rule` if that action is available for your use case.
4. Use `Dispatch Trigger` with a test payload when supported.
5. Review the resulting status message or automation run output.
6. Open automation run records if your environment exposes them.
7. Check whether the expected change, approval, notification, or SLA action occurred.

## Tips

* Test with realistic sample payloads.
* Keep one rule focused on one clear outcome where possible.
* If the action does not run, check permissions and required policy configuration first.
