What This Does
This guide explains how to create an automation rule that reacts to LoopIQ events and performs configured actions. Before You Begin
Make sure:- you have permission to manage automation
- you understand the workflow the rule will affect
- you know which organization and team the rule should apply to
- you can safely test the rule with a low-risk record
Steps
- Open
Automation. - Select
Create Rule. - Enter a clear rule name.
- Choose the module or record type the rule applies to.
- Select the trigger event.
- Add conditions that limit when the rule should run.
- Configure one or more actions.
- Save the rule as inactive if you want to review it before use.
- Test the rule with a sample record.
- Activate the rule when the result is correct.
Service Request Actions
When the rule applies to service requests, action settings should include service request-specific fields where supported, such as:- priority
- requestor
- category
- team
- assignee
- status
- urgency or impact
- application, service, feature, or environment
- due date or fulfillment-related fields
Tips
- Start with narrow conditions so the rule does not affect unrelated records.
- Avoid creating loops where one automation repeatedly triggers another.
- Use clear rule names that describe the trigger and result.
- Document the owner of each rule.
