Review, Prioritize, and Update Idea Status

What this does

This guide explains how product owners, team leads, or reviewers can evaluate ideas and move them through the idea lifecycle.

Before you begin

Make sure you can:
  • open Ideas list or board views
  • edit idea records
  • update priority and status fields

Steps

  1. Open Ideas.
  2. Switch to the list view if you want to review many ideas at once.
  3. Apply filters such as:
    • status
    • priority
    • team
    • submitter
  4. Open the idea you want to review.
  5. Read the title, description, comments, and any supporting attachments.
  6. Check vote activity if your process uses idea voting.
  7. Decide the current disposition of the idea.
  8. Update fields such as:
    • priority
    • status
    • team ownership
    • due date or target timeframe
  9. Save the changes.
  10. Return to the list or board and confirm the idea moved to the expected state.

What happens next

After review, an idea may:
  • stay in review for more information
  • be approved for planning
  • be linked to delivery work
  • be deferred
  • be rejected

Tips

  • Update status only after the decision is clear.
  • Use comments to explain why priority or status changed.
  • If your team uses board view, keep status names aligned with your workflow language.
