Use Gantt, PERT, Resource, and Calendar Views

What this does

This guide explains how to use the advanced project planning views in LoopIQ to understand schedule, dependencies, team load, and delivery timing.

Before you begin

Make sure:
  • stories, tasks, issues, or iterations already exist
  • planned dates and team assignments are populated where needed
  • you are in the correct team context if your work is team-specific

Steps

  1. Open the Project Management area.
  2. Go to the planning view you need:
    • Gantt for timeline planning
    • PERT for dependency path analysis
    • Resource View for workload and assignment review
    • Calendar for date-based planning
  3. Apply team, date, or status filters.
  4. Review the time window shown on the screen.
  5. In Gantt view:
    • confirm planned start and end dates
    • check overlapping work
    • identify slippage or scheduling conflicts
  6. In PERT view:
    • review dependency chains
    • look for blockers or long paths
    • confirm predecessor and successor relationships
  7. In Resource View:
    • check work assigned to each person or team
    • look for overloaded or underused capacity
    • rebalance work if needed
  8. In Calendar view:
    • review upcoming work by date
    • confirm milestones and deadlines
    • look for heavy delivery periods
  9. Open any work item directly from the planning view to make corrections.

What happens next

After using these views, teams usually:
  1. adjust dates
  2. rebalance assignments
  3. update dependencies
  4. confirm the next iteration or milestone plan

Tips

  • If the screen looks sparse, check the current team context first.
  • Resource and calendar views become more useful when dates and assignees are consistently maintained.
  • Use PERT when the main question is sequencing, not just workload.
