Create a Service Request

What this does

This guide explains how to submit a service request and track it through review and fulfillment.

Steps

  1. Open ITSM.
  2. Select Create New.
  3. Choose Service Request.
  4. Enter a short request title.
  5. Describe what is needed and why.
  6. Select the request priority.
  7. Choose the responsible team if required by your process.
  8. Add supporting details such as category, application, feature, environment, service, due date, impact, urgency, or fulfillment notes where available.
  9. Confirm the requestor.
  10. Save the request.

Requestor behavior

For requests created by a signed-in user, the requestor normally defaults to the acting user. For external form submissions or automated intake, administrators can configure or select a default requestor so the request has a clear owner even when the submitter is not an internal LoopIQ user.

Service request priority

Service Request Priority is managed from organization or team settings. It should be available from the Create New menu in Team Settings when your role has permission to manage service request configuration.

Verify the result

  1. Open the ITSM list view.
  2. Switch to the Service Requests tab.
  3. Confirm the request appears in the list.
  4. Open the detail page and review the current status.

What happens next

A service request may:
  • move into review
  • be assigned to a team or assignee
  • enter approval if required
  • be fulfilled and closed
