Manage Notification Settings

What this does

This guide explains how admins configure notification settings so users receive the right updates by email or in-app alerts.

Before you begin

Make sure:
  • you have access to organization or team notification settings
  • you understand which roles or users should receive different updates

Steps

  1. Open the notification settings page.
  2. Choose the scope you want to manage:
    • organization-wide
    • team-specific
  3. Review the available event categories:
    • work item updates
    • approvals
    • automation and SLA events
    • comments or attachments
  4. Enable or disable the events your users should receive.
  5. Review whether notifications are intended for:
    • in-app use
    • email delivery
    • both
  6. Save the changes.
  7. Test a sample workflow if needed to confirm delivery.

Expired sessions

If a user’s authentication token expires while they are working, background notification polling should not repeatedly display error toasts. The user may need to sign in again before protected notification data can refresh. If the user sees repeated notification errors, ask them to refresh or sign in again, then report the issue with the time and organization name.

What happens next

Users will receive notifications based on the scope, roles, and workflow conditions that match the event.

Tips

  • Start with a smaller set of high-value notifications to avoid alert fatigue.
  • Team-specific settings are useful when one team wants tighter operational visibility than another.
  • If users are not receiving updates, verify permissions, routing logic, notification settings, and session state together.
